Internet Reports

“A” rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Like many businesses engaged in recruiting or other prospecting activities, we occasionally hear of cases in which someone thinks RJ & Makay isn't a real business but a "scam" operation. Nothing could be further from the truth. We're not only legitimate, but a leader in our industry.

In our seven years of operation, we've established ourselves as the go-to recruiting, staffing, and consulting firm for a number of household names in the finance sector such as Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Ameriprise Financial, and Citigroup. We're proud of the work we've done for these and many other financial companies. We always strive to provide them top-notch service with our team of experienced, highly knowledgeable recruiters and the many dedicated professionals involved in the day-to-day operations of RJ & Makay. Click on the BBB logo to the right and review our "A" rating and other information.

We also hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards. As a result, we've NEVER entered into arbitration with or been sued by an employee, contractor, vendor, or client and we're accredited with the Better Business Bureau.

Since the aim of most scams is to get money, we always stress that our independent contractors, employees, and job candidates NEVER pay us anything. There are no fees of any kind to work for us or have access to our resources. In fact, we typically offer contractors and employees multiple compensation options. The only people who pay us are our clients, and they only do so for recruiting, staffing, or consulting services they've hired us to provide.

RJ & Makay is not a scam of any kind.

The source of scam reports comes from the internet websites. If you search "RJ & Makay" on Google, you may get scam reports that are really only uninformed remarks posted on message boards. The most common postings are by people who say they were emailed by RJ & Makay about a financial advisor opening after putting their resume on a job board. Such emails are perfectly legal and most recruiters send them when they spot resumes for potentially qualified job candidates. Emails are a part of our recruiting efforts, as well.

Simple customer service issues may also appear on the Internet as scam reports, and, unfortunately, that's also happened to us. There's not much we can do about these and other misleading reports except suggest you go to our website, read the blogs we post each week, peruse our newsletters, and keep an eye out for us in the Wall Street Journal, Investment News, and other leading print and online financial news publications, who've quoted us more than 70 times in our seven years of operation. Take sometime and review some of the quotes in these respected publications.

Here are the answers to a couple other questions we're sometimes asked about Internet reports and minimum production requirements:

Why doesn't RJ & Makay respond to false Internet postings?

People have asked us this question many times, and the reason is simple: Each time we do, it pushes the rankings of posts with false accusations higher. Since we, our clients, our contractors, and our employees all know the accusations are false, we think it's best just to send our FAQ to people with questions, provide information packets to those considering a career with RJ & Makay and, of course, maintain this website.

Is it true RJ & Makay has minimum production requirements for contractors?

Again, we NEVER require anyone to pay us anything to be able to work with us. But, yes, we do require independent contractor meeting facilitators (CMFs), our non-employee cold callers, to identify and submit at least eight qualified and interested job candidates per month to maintain access to our calling lists. We have this minimum to protect other CMFs from one contractor “sitting” on a call list for an extended period of time without activity. We also don’t wish to work with vendors who aren’t regularly practicing their trade.
